Function of slitting line:
A slitting line will create multiple widths or “mults” from a wider jumbo coil. The multiple strips are made from predetermined widths. The slitting line is consists of four main parts: decoiler, slitter, tension station and recoiler. Steel strip is fed from decoiler, through sliting head, and then re-coil in slitted strips on the recoiler. It is very important that the machine supplier and end user work in details so that the proper components, arbor size, tooling package, horsepower and tensions are suitable for the material to be slitted.
Main procedures:
Loading coils→decoiling→ pinching, leveling, and shearing→ looping→ guiding → slitting → rewinding scraps → looping → tension → recoiling → unloading baby coils → packing
